We recommend that schools proactively teach values and character development. Teaching character, morals and values in schools is important to help our children form good decision making skills particularly in the elementary years. Children learn their values from ages 4 through 8 and schools are the best distribution point to not only effect the children but the family and community as well.

We would like to offer you a simple program which will provide a firm foundation and give each child the right perspective for life, sharing . It will not take much classroom time and will ultimately assist with management of the classroom as children start to live their values everyday!!! Our program will visually reinforce the values that each school chooses and allow each campus to implement and integrate the values and character traits into the cirriculum based on their unique circumstances. Visual reinforcement is a powerful tool as most of us are visual learners.

The key to the program is acceptance, implementation and role modeling by the administration, faculty and staff. The kids will be eager to accept the values and boundaries as long as everyone in the school is committed and living, modeling and coaching the same values. Elementary children love and idolize their teachers and will listen, learn and respond. We have titled the program 4 Kids to encourage them to share Learning and living the values along with viewing the world through the prism of has a powerful impact. Below is our program to visually reinforce the values that your school chooses.

1. Each morning or a least once a week either sing a song or repeat a creed/poem which contains the values that your school has selected. We are partial to our song because we believe singing puts kids into the right frame of mind. We customize our song to include the values your school has chosen. You are welcome to listen an example of one of our schools’s song at the bottom of this page.

   
   

2. Organize a meeting for parents and send home a letter to explain the 4 Kids program. We will be happy to participate in the meeting. Incorporate a discussion of values in meetings and functions with parents.

   
   

3. We suggest that you tape the values to the desk of each student. Each student can design their own index card with the values. We will give each student a magnet to be taken home to be placed on their refrigerator or a sticker to be placed on their take-home folder. Encourage the parents to use the values as teaching and coaching tools at home.

   
   

4. We provide each student and employee a tee shirt with our logo (shown on your left) on the front with the values listed on the back. Visual reinforcement is a powerful tool. We suggest that you have the kids wear the tee shirts on a designated day each week. We will also provide a bracelets for the kids to wear.

   
   

5. We provide banners and other reminders around your school with the values and our logo to further reinforce the message.

   
   

6. Read your students books about the values you have chosen or, if they are reading, have these books as required reading material for them. Have classroom discussions to explore the topics and reinforce the values.

   
   

7. Teachers, staff and administration should model the behavior and use the values as coaching and mentoring points when unacceptable behavior is observed. Reward students when you see them living the values you have chosen. We have bookmarks for rewards.

   
   

8. Remind the students that

   and have these words become part of your campus vocabulary.

   
   

9. Chose one student each week per class for the award.

   
   

10. Seeing and Living the values you choose Everyday!!! is the key to success. That’s why we use multiple items to visually reinforce the values.

    
    

We allow our schools to use our trademarked brand and slogan and logo to visually reinforce the values each school chooses. The program can be a simple as including your values on the back of your school tee shirt and placing banners around your school to any combination of the above. Our entire package includes tee shirts, magnets, bracelets, banners, book marks and our song, a version of which is included below. It is very cost effective and we can help with financial arrangements including using Title I funds if available.

2010-2011 Survey Results from schools participating in our program.

- 79.3% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that the behavior of their students improved as a result of teaching values. This is the standard that we are using to measure the impact of the program

- 94.8% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that their students understand the values that they taught

- 86.3% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that their students were using the values that they were taught.

- 94.8% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that it helped to have the whole school participate in the project.

- 81% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that the tee shirts, bracelets, magnets and banners were effective in reinforcing the values

- 88% of teachers surveyed agreed to strongly agreed that the LiveOurValuesEveryday!!! and L.O.V.Everyday!!! brand, slogan and logo were helpful in teaching values.
